Beyond the coveted North Shore, there are hidden gems on both the South and West sides of Kauai. The South shore is drivable for a day trip adventure if you're looking to explore more of what the island has to offer. Traditionally, the South shore is the "dry side" of the island. While we can't make any promises, it can make for a great day trip if the forecast for the North Shore is particularly wet!

HANAPEPE ART NIGHT

Hanapepe Town is best explored on Friday nights. On Fridays, all galleries are open along with the shops and restaurants. Artists, musicians, and vendors line the main street of Hanapepe --with everything from food trucks to craft vendors.

Discover more here.

WAREHOUSE 3540

A celebration of Kauai's rich history of arts and culture, Warehouse 3540 is a building featuring small shops, an art studio, and a printing press with a coffee shop and food trucks as well. If you're venturing to the South shore, Warehouse 3540 makes for a great rainy day activity.

KAUAI ISLAND BREWING

Located in Port Allen/Waimea, this is one of our favorite South shore eats. Kauai Island Brewing makes for a perfect stop after a hike at Waimea Canyon.

HAMURA SAIMIN RESTAURANT

If you want to experience an iconic dive restaurant in Lihue, beloved by local surfers, Hamura Saimin is it. Check out their menu here.
